The recently relaunched Myspace and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! are teaming up for a yearlong initiative that will bring the show’s extended musical performances to a wider audience.

Beginning June 18, select artists booked for JKL’s concert series will have their outdoor stage performances, which typically feature as many as five songs, livestreamed in HD on Myspace. The first act scheduled for the bonus webcast: Empire of the Sun, who will perform songs from Ice On The Dune, their first album in nearly five years.

Fans can watch the live beginning Tuesday night at a new URL. The series will be archived on Myspace as well.

Said Christian Parkes, vice president of global marketing at Myspace: “As the go-to destination for the best music on late night,Jimmy Kimmel Live! has a great track record of recognizing new and emerging talent.”

Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s music acts are booked by Scott Igoe, who has been with the show since its launch 11 years ago.

Myspace officially launched and moved out of beta last week (June 12). A relationship between Myspace and the Kimmel show had already been established as last week it was announced that taped performances from last week's official Myspace launch party at L.A.'s El Rey Theater with Robin Thicke, Pharrell and Miley Cyrus among others would run on the Kimmel show.
