Megadeth and Jenny Lewis team up for “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”

CHRISTINA SALGADO/Consequence of Sound

If you’ve ever wondered what a Megadeth Christmas album would sound like, your holiday wishes are about to come true. On Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Dave Mustaine and company took part in a sketch promoting their fake Christmas album,Thrashing in the Snow. And in an even more bizarre twist, indie darling Jenny Lewisjoined the metal gods for a hilariously uncomfortable duet of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”. (That is, more uncomfortable than the original already is). Lewis seems almost as terrified as the little tikes they’re playing for, though we’re not sure if it’s from Mustaine’s guttural yelps or his holiday jumper. Still, we have to admit we wish this CD were real; listening to Megadeath rip into caustic renditions of Christmas classics should be right up there with holiday stand-bys like flying reindeer and the little chocolates from advent calendars.
