Jack White announces tour dates

Jack White is a busy man. In addition to running his Nashville-based record label Third Man Records, the former White Stripes frontman recently announced a new album, Lazaretto, as well as plans to record the “World’s Fastest Record” on Record Store Day. On Monday, the restless rocker announced a series of headlining dates in support of the new album.

In addition to his previously announced festival dates, including Bonnaroo, Forecastle Festival, and the Osheaga Music & Arts Festival, White revealed 18 more shows across the U.S. and Europe that run from the end of May through July. Third Man signee Kelley Stoltz and Benjamin Booker will serve as openers. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on April 9 for Vault members, and at 10 a.m. on April 11 to the general public.

European audiences will have several opportunities to see White this summer. Besides the five shows announced Monday -- including back-to-back nights at L'Olympia in Paris on June 29-30 -- White has also been added to the lineup for the annual Glastonbury Festival, set for June 25-29 in Pilton, England.

The tour dates will cap a busy summer for White. Lazaretto, his sophomore solo album and follow-up to 2012’s also fun-to-say Blunderbuss, drops on June 10 in the U.S. The title track is expected to be released as a single later this month, along with an extremely limited edition 7” of the song he’s recording, pressing, and delivering in just a few hours on April 19, Record Store Day.
