The War on Drugs’ performs on Letterman

Consequence of Sound Staff

Philadelphia rock titans The War on Drugs made a trip up I-95 on Monday for a visit to the Ed Sullivan Theatre and their sophomore appearance on Late Show with David Letterman. In support of their phenomenal third album Lost in the Dream, the band teamed with CBS’ own Paul Schaffer for a jaw-droppingly good rendition of Song of the Year candidate “Red Eyes”. The performance was so good, in fact, that even the competition was raving about it: “Yes!! @warondrugsjams just slayed on Letterman,” Jimmy Fallon music booker Jonathan Cohen tweeted … as his own show was still on the air.

Fortunately for us, The War on Drugs aren’t slowing down anytime soon. They’ve got a massive summer tour lined up that’ll see them appear Pitchfork Paris, Portugal’s Optimus Alive!, Boston Calling, and pretty much every festival in between. Then, come January, they’ll joinbuddies My Morning Jacket in Mexico for the band’s One Big Holidaydestination festival. See TWOD’s full itinerary here.
