George Harrison memorialized in tribute concert

September has been a month filled with moments honoring Beatles great George Harrison. First came Capitol Records’ release of George Harrison: The Apple Years 1968-1975, a box set collecting Harrison’s first six solo albums alongside unreleased live recordings and demos. Then, Conan O’Brien hosted a week-long series of performances which saw artists like Beck, Paul Simon, Harrison’s son Dhani with Big Black Delta, and Norah Jones covering Harrison’s classic material.

Last night at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre, Harrison was again memorialized, this time with an all-star tribute concert featuring The Flaming LipsWayne Coyne and Steven Drozd, Spoon’s Britt Daniel,Brian Wilson, “Weird” Al Yankovic, The KillersBrandon Flowers and Mark Stoermer, plus members of Weezer and The Strokes were all in attendance.
