Foo Fighters premiere new song “Congregation”

Consequence of Sound Staff

Foo Fighters will release their eighth studio album, Sonic Highways, on November 10th via Roswell Recordings. The band is complementing the album with an eight-part HBO series of the same name, with each episode documenting the recording of one specific track in a different American city. Thus far, we’ve sampled lead single “Something From Nothing” and “The Feast and the Famine”, recorded in Chicago and Washington, DC, respectively. Ahead of tonight’s episode, they’ve shared a third track in the form of “Congregation”.

Chock full of gnarly guitar riffs and Grohl’s signature growl, the hard-hitting anthem was recorded at Nashville’s Southern Ground studio with assistance from Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band. Listen in below.

In addition to Brown, the album features a number of other guest contributors, including Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen (“Something From Nothing”), Bad Brains (“The Feast and the Famine”), Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, The Eagles’ Joe Walsh, and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Pre-orders are ongoing.

01. Something From Nothing

03. Congregation
04. What Did I Do?/God As My Witness
